Xiong Chengyu

Mr. Xiong Chengyu, born in 1954, Ph.D. at the Brigham Young University, he is the professor and doctoral supervisor in Tsinghua University, as well as the director of National Cultural Industry Research Center in Tsinghua University, director of New Media Communications Research Center, member of the National Internet Development and Management Expert Committee, member of Expert Committee for State Owned Cultural Enterprise in Ministry of Finance, director of China International Cultural Exchange Center, and vice President of China Communication Society. With the expertise of interdisciplinary research, he was also a member of the Advisory Committee for State Informatization. Professor Xiong has published very widely in the area of new media studies, and public policy for information and cultural industries. He is among the fist professors in cultural studies that were invited to give a lecture to the politburo members of the CCP’s central committee. His major publications include Study on World Culture Industry, The History of Media Development, New Media Encyclopedia etc.
