Niu Gensheng

Mr. Niu Gensheng, born in 1958, is the Founder and former Chairman of Board & President of Meng Niu Dairy (Group) Co., Ltd., Co-Founder of Yili Dairy Group, Founder and Honorary President of Lao Niu Foundation. He is the current Vice President of China Charity Federation, Executive Director of China Entrepreneur Club, and Deputy Director of Chinese Council of The Nature Conservancy. Mr. Niu has won quite a few awards, including "CCTV China Economic Annual Figure", "The Most Influential Business Leaders of China" (for 5 consecutive years), "China Philanthropic Award" (twice), "Lifetime Achievement Award" and the "Special Contribution Award" in the philanthropist field.
At the end of 2004, Mr. Niu Gensheng initiated the first family foundation--Lao Niu Foundation, and donated his entire shares of Meng Niu Group and the most dividends with his family. He is honored as "The World’s First Person to Donate Shares ". Currently, the Niu’s family has donated a total value of about 4 billion Yuan. Mr. Niu is exploring the way to achieve the goals of "Charity Globalization and Project Internationalization" through working in the fields of cultural and educational fields and environmental protection. He has been working closely with various international institutions.
