On 16th August, 2013, the Press Conference for the establishment of "Zhang Bin - Niu Gensheng - Bethune Fund" was held in University of Toronto. The Fund was set up by Mr. Zhang Bin, president of CCIA, and Mr. Niu Gensheng, CCIA Consultant and Founder of Lao Niu Foundation.

It was the first time that Chinese entrepreneurs set up a dedicate fund in a Canadian university and also the first time that Chinese entrepreneurs establish educational fund in University of Toronto. Mr. Zhang Bin, President of CCIA, attended the event. In his speech, Mr. Zhang Bin stated that, the fund would promote the peace and advancement of a global society by fostering dedicated medical professionals modeled after Dr. Bethune.

Mr. Zhang Bin, President of CCIA and Ms. Catherine Whiteside, Dean of Faculty of Medicine, signed the gift agreement.
