China Cultural Industry Association organized “Silk Road-A Road to Innovation” Themed Exhibition in Sydney

On 22nd November, 2014, the themed exhibition of “Silk Road-A Road to Innovation” , hosted by Ministry of Culture of P.R.China, organized by China Cultural Industry Association, Sydney China Cultural Center, National Research Center of Cultural Industries in Tsinghua University and LeTV Group, was inaugurated in Sydney. Mr. Dong Wei, Deputy Minister of Culture of People’s Republic of China, Ms. Clover Moore, Mayor of Sydney, Mr. Charles Casuscelli, Member of Parliament in New South Wales Legislative Assembly, Mr. Zhang Bin, President of China Cultural Industry Association, and Mr. Kerry Brown, Executive Director of the China Studies Centre at the University of Sydney attended the exhibition and delivered speeches.

During President Xi Jinping’s state visit to Australia, China and Australia co-announced to upgrade the bilateral ties to a comprehensive strategic partnership. At his speech at the Federal Parliament of Australia, President Xi pointed out that China should accelerate the promotion of the building the Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road with all Asian Pacific countries. “Silk Road-A Road to Innovation” was held by Ministry of Culture of P.R.China, three days right after President Xi’s visit in Sydney. It is practical initiative implemented according to President Xi’s instructions: to strengthen people-to-people and cultural exchanges, and to accelerate the promotion of the building of the Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road.

The exhibition starts by the session themed as “Silk Road, a common cultural heritage shared by all humankind", it further interprets President Xi Jinping';;;;s strategic thinking of "Silk Road, a road for exchanges among world civilizations, for international economic and trade cooperation, and for innovation to the future". The region of Oceania is a natural extension of Maritime Silk Road. With latest pictures of President Xi';;;;s state visit to Australia and replica breitling Sino-Australian history of cultural exchanges, through innovative modes in images, words, and three-dimensional technology such as holographic projection, dome video, the exhibition presents the wide responses and achievements of the international community following the strategy of building of the Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road.

Mr. Zhang Bin, President of China Cultural Industry Association, expressed that China has a long-term friendship and cooperation with Australia. The trend of globalization strengthens their communication. The development of China';;;;s cultural industries ushered in an unprecedented historical opportunity, thus has created a better platform for mutual exchanges and cooperation. “Silk Road-A Road to Innovation” themed exhibition organized by China Cultural Industry Association, on one hand, promotes the strategy of building of the Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road; on the other hand, propels the strategic cooperation mechanism agreed during President Xi’s state visit to Australia.

The themed Exhibition of "“Silk Road-A Road to Innovation”, has received high recognition from Australian relevant communities, including Government officials, experts and scholars, general public, overseas Chinese. They consider that the exhibition, with high efficiency, is the embodiment of President Xi Jinping';;;;s speech at the Federal Parliament of Australia. The exhibition contributes to the understanding of Australian people to the development strategies of The Silk Road proposed by Chinese leaders, and has an important role in the Sino-Australian cultural exchanges.
