Liaoning Grand Theatre, located in Municipal Road in Liaoning Province, was founded in August, 2001. The gross area of the building of Liaoning Grand Theatre is 30,000 square meters. Liaoning Grand Theatre, with its distinctive and elegant architecture, becomes one of the biggest infrastructures of cultural facilities in our province since the founding. And it is also the biggest international theatrical stage with fully equipped functions in Liao-Shen region. Regarded as a representative art centre in an international metropolis city like Shenyang, Liaoning Grand Theatre is known as the cultural exchange window as well as the palace of elegant art in Liao-Shen region. Liaoning Grand Theatre with elegant decoration has big-sized and small-sized theatres, concert hall, multi-function hall, rehearsal halls, dining hall, hotel and underground parking. Various large-scale performances have been held and hundreds of famous artists from more than one hundred art troupes, such as Broadway Musicals from America, China National Symphony Orchestra, China Broadcasting Ethnic Chinese Orchestra, and China Opera Ballet Theater Troupe and so on, have all performed here.

In 2005, Liaoning Grand Theatre has initiates and established China Northern Theatric Alliance. In 2006, it becomes the first theatre which has been named as the national demonstrative base of cultural industry in northeastern region. Since 2007, Liaoning Excellent Performance Season was held seven years in succession here, and New Year Concert in northeastern region of China and New Year Folk Concert in northeastern region of China have already formed as the famous art brands in Liao-Shen region.
